#Goals

Can you believe it? We are half way through the Month of May!! I want to check in on your goals and intentions for the Month. Do you remember what they are?

Goals tend to be simple, but unless you really define your goals how do you know if and when you have accomplished them?

For example, if your goal is: to drink more water. What does more mean? I currently drink a lot of water so drinking more would be 10 glasses a day, but for a client of mine who is only drinking 4 glasses of water a day more could mean drinking 5 glasses. Now that is a huge difference!

The importance here is to make your goals measurable and specific. These are two of the five mistakes made by most people when setting goals they want to accomplish.

Many people struggle with accomplishing their goals. Today I am sharing with you my foolproof guide to setting and accomplishing my goals!

How are you feeling with your goals? Take a moment and reflect on the goals you set for yourself for the month. Have you been successful? Where have you fallen short? Has fear gotten in the way?

Here is one of my favorite excerpts from Marianne Williamson’s A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of a Course in Miracles

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Fear is natural, we all have it, and it likes to join the party even when it wasn't invited. Fear is just thoughts in our head. To kick fear to the curb and achieve your goals you need to take ACTION!

There is no need to wait for the New Year, the start of a New Month, or even a New Week - Every Day is a great opportunity to reflect on your progress and put yourself back on track. Set your goals and #ownit! If you veer off track, reset them and use a friend or loved one to help you stay accountable.
